This information is from my personal experience, so it’s "my opinion." Others may have a completely different experience, so this is just from my point of view, for your consideration.
I am not associated, I’m just sharing information with you because I promised to give you a progress report. So, here it is.....
Sorting through
submission services to determine what works best, I’ve come to the opinion that it is best to vary online advertising. Something may work for awhile, but it’s freshness wears off. Every site has it’s regular viewers, and after they’ve seen my link a few times those viewers have bookmarked it for later, taken advantage of my site’s services, or are ignoring it. That’s one of the reasons I really like the "free" marketing tools....freshness is fleeting!
One of the tools I really like is
http://InstantOffense.com It’s inexpensive, and I could tell from my stats that the viewers actually spent some time on my website. I purchased their service through ebay...their merchant id is ehost, if you want to check them out - I got a couple really good bargains.
Then I was concerned that
directories are equally as important as search engines, and decided to promote two of my websites with:
www.megawebpromotion.com Their site says it spiders to all the engines and directories @ $59. for 3 mo. and submits to more than half a million high traffic sites throughout multiple networks. They email me reports with lists of FFA’s they’ve submitted to. This seems to be rather slow building results, but maybe for $20. a month, it’s worth a try.
Guaranteed front page placement: http://www.berankednumberl.net For two of my sites I chose the $34.95 deal; one @$119.95 and they guarantee to have your site ranked on page number one within 7 days. The first deal is on two engines; the second on twelve engines. They say they don’t charge your card until they send you the proof. I have asked several times, had an email back that it was done and sent to me, but I haven’t seen the reports. I can see some search engine coverage increase checking the sites through my BuildTraffic account, but it would be nice to "know" how to actually see it for myself.
And we’ve heard you need to have
links back to your website. Okay, so how to do that? Well, you can write emails, possibly exchange links, which would take a long time if you ever get anywhere with that - or use "services" So I signed up with 2 companies with two different websites so I could monitor results:
http://www.linkexchangeexperts.com/WhyLink.aspx 385 one way link backs $24.95 mo. and
http://linkbuildingdirect.com/?AffID=2010 271 one way links @$24.95 mo. (Yes, need to make an exception here, this one does have an affiliate program, and I became and affiliate, and very quickly earned $24.95 so it paid for itself.) These services are the same price, one has more link backs, the other has an affiliate program. I plan to monitor my websites on Alexa and see how soon this makes a difference.
http://www.coffeecup.com/ Is a
free download for working on your website if you aren’t a web guru.
http://submitfire.coffeecup.com/ Will submit your website to 3000 search engines @$7.95 a month. This features includes really great site analysis tools. I’m trying this for one of my other sites.
I have used several
traffic services. Most of them just send "hits" not visitors. Although that does help build your stats, it doesn’t get you clients. For the same price, I am currently trying
http://www.i-web-marketing.com/ They send full page views and I have a stats page.
Hint: From my stats page, I can click on Edit, and the bottom click Find and fill in the date and it will show me all the visitors I had that day.
Maybe this info will give you something to think about.
Blogs are good. If you don't have one, consider getting one....this is a good place, that is, IF you have valuable information to share.
Free Newsletters are good. I haven’t started sending mine yet, but that’s on my "to do" list. I have about 3,000 subscribers waiting to receive it. You can still request my FREE Newsletter. I quite likely will be offering a weekly newsletter that won’t be free on Ebay. I’ll post here when both are ready.
