THE MEASURE OF A MAN (or woman)-

You never have a second chance to create a better first impression....period.
And whether people want to think so, or not, everyone is judged by first impressions.

There are a few little tests I have found through the years that kinda summarize a person's attitudes and philosophies on life upon first site.

My Dad always looked at a person's shoes. He said if they were polished and shined he knew they took good care of other things too. Since he was a barber, he also looked at fingernails. If they were clean and well-kept, he felt they were mindful of their duties and would make a good employee.

I have read that you can get a picture of someone's life by looking at their keys. And you can pretty well judge the state of their life, by the state of their keys. For example, if you have one simple organized ring that would mean that your life is uncomplicated. On the other hand, if you have three rings all linked together with gobs of keys and gadgets we might guess that your life is pretty much like a three-ring circus with a lot of confusion and chaos. From my personal experience, this has proven to be true.

The same type observation can be made of a woman's purse, or a man's wallet. How organized and clean is it? Can you find everything easily?

Body Language is a give-away in most cases.

So, you see, people don't really even need to "say" anything to basically tell you "who they are!" And when they "show" you who they are - believe them!
You can save yourself a lot of trouble later.

My Dad also "tested" his new employees. He'd leave money laying around, not alot, just a small amount, but he wanted to see if the new staffer was honest. And "how" honest they were as amount or opportunities might grow.

I learned A LOT from my Dad. Barbers are very smart people, you know. They observe..... I found it interesting to learn this week that Oprah's Dad was a barber, and that Denzel Washington's mentor was a barber. We do well to learn from those you "observe." We too could learn alot if we actually stopped to "observe" and really SEE!

And then, to show appreciation to those who deserve it. It has been said that people tend to become what you tell them they are.....and that seems to be true. So if we emphasize the positive in people so it will expand! Compliments are FREE, but only have great value when you give them away (kinda like smiles).

I challenge you to spend this month of November "observing" and being "thankful." Take time to express your gratitude when it is deserved. Make a point of "catching" people doing good things and say so! If you praise someone in the presence of another person, everyone is uplifted.

The holidays are an extremely stressful time of year. There are so many activities, and so many financial requirements. We find ourselves mentally wallowing in our concerns. So, STOP, BREATHE....SMILE. Now find "something" to enjoy.....that golden leaf falling in front of you, that child giggling past you on his way home from school, the "extra" time your employee took e to assisting an elderly client. There are SO many valuable moments.

Don't miss "the small things".....they are the true treasures of life!

We are starting a New Year....time sure flies, if you're having fun, or not, have you noticed? Anyway..I spent way too much time in 2006 "sorting" through unproductive possibilities. Think I'm now determined to stay on track in 2007 and plan to present you with focused information with the goal being for us all to be creating wealth online together!
